Oct 29, 2009 · Answers. you can grind salt and other spices in a coffee grinder. they're less than $20 at most home goods stores. be sure to reserve its use for spices only, as you don't want your coffee to taste like spices, or vice versa. in a pinch, use the back of a metal spoon to crush/grind the salt against a metal or glass bowl, or on a cutting board.
